Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon / Fabrice Mazliah William Forsythe
Sheela Na Gig / Quintett / One Flat Thing, reproduced
[ TICKET SALES OPEN ON MAY 10 ]
The Opera de Lyon Ballet demonstrates consummate artistry in a triple bill that marks William Forsythe’s return to Chaillot.
A wonderful repertoire contemporary dance company, the Opera de Lyon Ballet is also at the forefront of creative work. The two works by master William Forsythe and the new production by choreographer Fabrice Mazliah provide another example. The former presents Quintett, a poignant ode over “Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet” by Gavin Bryars, and One Flat Thing, reproduced, a beautiful demonstration of organized chaos from and on rectangular tables. The latter, a lover of experimentation who has created several pieces, will present his latest work, backed by the vocals of the six dancers directed by performer.
