Love Cycle : OCD Love
Chaillot presents Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar’s Love Cycle opening with OCD Love. A hypnotic dance where movement fills the absences. A story “like a puzzle that is being assembled”.
The Batsheva Dance Company, the Carte Blanche company, the Nederlands Dans Theater and the Hubbard Street Dance… the list of Sharon Eyal’s collaborations with some of the greatest dance troupes is long. Since 2013, the dancer and choreographer, with her long-term artistic partner Gai Behar, has also been standing on her own two feet. OCD Love is the dazzling proof of her talent: basing herself on a text by Neil Hilborn, OCD, and the electronic score by Ori Lichtik, this piece is focussed on choreographic systems in relation to movement, music and freedom. “The idea is to go even further with my dancers”. Neil Hilborn is a poet who suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD). “When I started to read Neil’s book, I wasn’t able to stop, it was already a choreography in my eyes”, said Sharon Eyal. The result is touching by the power of its gestures and the fluidity of its commitment.
