“If the camera loves you, we love you. It’s that simple.” Kodak is a cinematic piece enveloped in mist through which the icons of American pop culture - ET, the first steps on the moon – emerge and look at our selfie-fixated society. Besides the magnificent scenography and the highly distinctive choreography of Norwegian Alan Lucien Øyen performed by ten dancers from GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, the piece is a reflection on our time where illusion always trumps reality. “Snap, snap, thank you Kodak.” Anything can be photographed or filmed. But the depiction reflects the construction of a fictitious and irrelevant world.
